“King Power” Conquers Twin Towers, Duty-Free/Comm. Area, Announcing Revenue Sharing Soon!

On May 31, 2019, AOT has announced that King Power has won the bidding to operate both Duty-Free and commercial area in Suvarnabhumi Airport.

In the afternoon of May 31, 2019, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has revealed King Power Suvarnabhumi Company Limited has won the bidding to acquire the concession to operate commercial area in Suvarnabhumi Airport, beating Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN)’s proposal while Minor International Public Company Limited (MINT) was disqualified on the previous round.

AOT will proceed to negotiate before submitting to its Board of Directors on June 19, 2019.

Mr. Wichai Bunyu, Senior Executive Vice President, states that the revenue sharing that King Power proposed was at THB 2 billion per annum, higher than the previous proposal and expectation from AOT.

“The bidding of Duty-Free concession and commercial area this time would increase AOT’s proportion of income in Non-Aero business,” said Mr. Wichai.

In the morning, AOT has also reported that King Power had won the right to operate Duty-Free concession in Suvarnabhumi Airport as well.
